Why the Olympic Peninsula is the Perfect Place to Elope

I’m not just going to show you the stunning Olympic Peninsula, let me tell you why it’s so perfect! Not only does this area boast some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country, but it’s also not a typical tourist destination giving you privacy as well. It's a bit off the beaten path so you can be sure that you won't have to worry about crowds of people getting in the way of your special moment

Unlike other parts of the country, the Olympic Peninsula enjoys mild temperatures and beautiful weather almost year-round. This means you can plan your elopement at any time of year and know that the weather will be picture-perfect!

Whether you're looking for a beach wedding or a mountain-top ceremony, no matter where you choose to say “I do”, your photos will be nothing short of stunning with these views.

    Planning your Olympic Peninsula Elopement

Before packing up your best dress for your Olympic Peninsula elopement, there are a few things to consider. With these tips, you'll be able to create an unforgettable experience that is truly magical!!

The Olympic Peninsula has four seasons, each with its own beauty. In my experience, the best time for an elopement is from late spring to early fall. The weather is mild and the scenery is at its peak!

There are a variety of locations to choose from and some of the most popular locations to elope include Ruby Beach, Rialto Beach, Hurricane Ridge, and Lake Crescent. You can also opt for a more secluded location. I love the Hoh Rainforest, which offers a tranquil and serene atmosphere.

Make sure you hire a professional photographer or videographer to capture your special day who is familiar with the area! Many photographers specialize in elopements but can flop if they are going to the Olympic Peninsula for the first time. My personal fave is to capture the day in Super8 film, which adds such a unique and vintage touch to your wedding memories!

The (probably) most important step…PERMITS! Look into the requirements since they can vary depending on the location you choose.

TIP: if you plan to elope in Olympic National Park, you'll need an National Park Pass, while some areas require a Discover Pass or a Northwest Forest Pass. You may also need a photography permit or a tribal land permit, depending on the location!

In the winter, skiing and snowboarding are fantastic activities in the Olympic Mountains! The activities you can choose from on your elopement day are endless.

If you're looking for a romantic dining experience, check out a previous couple of mine! Trevor + Nicola had a unique dining experience in a bell tent at a campsite! You can also enjoy a romantic dinner at one of the many restaurants in the area.
