Laid Back San Francisco Couples Session
Reminiscing on this Laid Back San Francisco Couples Session in California. Tips for Photo Sessions on Chilly Days. Recommendations for adding Super 8 Videography to your session.
Kaily and Greg are soul mates, and I keep pinching myself over the fact that I was able to witness their love firsthand. Truly, that in and of itself, makes me more obsessed with my job.
So let's get into it, shall we?
Experiencing Love During This San Francisco Couples Session
Winter in San Francisco is FRIGID, to say the least. Seriously, with it being on the coast, you can expect some chilly temperatures in December. Which, is exactly what we experienced during Kaily and Greg's San Francisco Couples Session. As a professional third wheel, I captured them while we relived their first date.
We met up at Alembic, a bar in Haite-Ashbury. From there, we headed to Baker Beach for the dreamiest sunset. Seriously, I don't think even the Bachelor producers could have created more romantic vibes!
On their first date, the two talked about how they both love martinis but order them very differently. Kaily is a sucker Vodka Martini EXTRA DIRTY while Greg is a Gin Martini STRAIGHT UP type of guy. To celebrate their differences in preferences... obviously, we had to get martinis while we were there.
Preparing for your San Francisco Couples Session in the Winter
I have been doing this for a long time, and I am no stranger to the fact that winter photo sessions get a bad rap! The thing is until the climate crisis turns winter upside down, it is going to be a chilly time of the year. Although you need to prepare more, it doesn't mean that your couples session has to be miserable!
FOUR REASONS WHY I THINK WINTER SESSIONS ARE THE BEST:
01. Less Crowded
Even the best, well-known locations seem to be empty during the winter months. San Francisco is as busy as they come so finding a location with minimal humans?! Impeccable.
02. Temperate Weather
Although it is chilly, the weather still allows for photo sessions. There are spots in other cities where you physically aren't able to even consider having a couples session during the winter.
03. Outfit Texture
Adding layers of clothing is always a fun way to add movement and texture to a session.
04. Indoor Locations
Outside sessions are incredible and they definitely deserve all of the hype they deserve. However, because they are so great, we often miss out on fun indoor locations such as bars, museums, etc.
