PNW Couples Session in a Cozy Cabin
This PNW Couples Session still gives me the warmest and coziest feelings.
When winter hits in the Pacific Northwest, you can either hibernate until spring or head for the mountains. Winter doesn’t mean that you can’t get outside, but it does help to have a cozy basecamp to come back to.
For this shoot, Alex and Matt chose to do a little bit of both, proving that you can get creative to find unique spots for photos even in the darkest months.
PNW COUPLE SESSION: MATT + ALEX
It wasn’t hard to fall in love with this couple—Alex is a badass winemaker and Matt continues his family tradition of firefighting. They both love the PNW and were up for hunkering down in the cutest A-frame cabin in the woods with mugs of wine & good tunes.
The vibes were beyond cozy—knit sweaters, a book collection you could get lost in, and a connection between the two that was unmistakable.
A COZY CABIN AND MOODY WINTER VIBES MAKE FOR A MAGICAL PNW COUPLE SESSION
These two led me through the lush forest outside the cabin stretching onto Mt. Rainier National Park. The dense trees cloaked in moss and the winding river provided the perfect backdrop for our afternoon. Low-hanging clouds hovered above as Alex and Matt found their stride together through a nearby field. It felt like I was documenting Alex and Matt’s love in their natural habitat: organic, wild, and vibrant.

Retreating to the A-Frame cabin at the end of the shoot was definitely a perk for these two. Here in the Pacific Northwest, there are so many unique mountain cabins!
