A Romantic Fall Vow Renewal at Bagley Lakes in the North Cascades | Sarah + Justin

Capturing this vow renewal was one of those moments that made me fall in love with my job all over again. I don’t think I will ever get over how magical this fall vow renewal was.

S + J chose to have their intimate and romantic vow renewal at Bagley Lakes, WA on Mount Baker. It was one of the dreamiest days in October with colorful leaves and tons of fog creating the moodiest atmosphere! So if you want to plan your own Washington vow renewal, keep reading to get all the details of this beautiful day!

Sarah + Justin’s Bagley Lake Vow Renewal

Sarah and Justin have been together for 10 years and wanted to celebrate their anniversary in the moody mountains. Despite the unpredictability of the weather in the mountains in the PNW, we went for it because it is one of the most beautiful times of the year here. And no matter what the weather was, we would make it work.

We chose October for the red and yellow colors that come out and the hope that we would get some fog. Luckily the fog did not disappoint and the weather and colors were everything we hoped for!! The colorful trees, calm lake, rocky mountains, and slow-moving fog created a setting for their vow renewal that I could have only dreamed of.

I truly could not have imagined a more beautiful backdrop for these two amazing humans to have renewed their vows. It was one of those days that felt like it was meant to be.

Dreamy Lake Bagley Vow Renewal Portraits

After their beautiful vow renewal ceremony, I adventured off with S + J to capture some romantic portraits. I followed them around as they loved up on one another hiking rocks, strolling on the paths, and dancing in front of the lake. As it started to get darker out, we brought out some lanterns for them to hold and it was the perfect addition to these photos.

Also, I couldn’t write about this vow renewal without mentioning how amazing their outfits were. Sarah wore the most stunning high neckline, long-sleeve vintage dress which looked like it was made just for her from Pretty Penny Clothing. She then layered a a fur shawl over the top which complimented the dress perfectly and provided her with some extra warmth. Justin wore dark brown pants, a long-sleeve white button-up, and a brown vest. They gave off the perfect vintage vibe for their moody fall vow renewal and I was obsessed!!

Special Moments From Their Bagley Lake Vow Renewal

In the couples questionnaire I send out I always ask couples to video record themselves giving me the answers. They were so sweet and cuddly that I knew exactly how to guide them through the session. And I surprised them by recreating their first dance with a cover version of their first dance song! I wasn't sure if that was going to be the right move or not but I trusted my gut and there wasn't a dry eye for the duration of the song and then some. It was the perfect moment!

Sarah and Justin’s Super 8 Film

Sarah and Justin also chose to do a Super 8 Film in addition to their photography. And let me tell you, the vibe of this vow renewal captured on Super 8 IS EVERYTHING!! They went with a more vintage feel with their outfits and it was so perfect. The way these two adore each other truly shines through in this video and it captured this day in such a unique way for them to look back in years from now!
